There are so many blogs out there these days it
is really hard to get traffic to your blog. Many expert will tell you this is a
VERY slow process also and not to expect great results off the start. Blogging
was really popular starting in the late 90’s but now there so many blogs
competition is fierce and knowing how to get traffic to a blog takes some experience
and you can learn these techniques here.
Understanding what a blog is very important as I have seen many that were a mangled mess with no direction or theme. Some are just pathetic attempts at spamming (Sending useless junk) with keyword cramming or spun articles that made no sense to read. A blog is meant to provide news, stories, journal type
entries on a particular subject, with some people using them as a more personal
online diary. Entries are not meant to be just Ad's but useful information or entertainment that people use or enjoy. You should make all your entries based on the theme of your blog.
Example: Your blog is a "Body Cleansing Blog" then your entries will be about recipes to try, products you've used, how you felt when you did a cleanse, which products worked best for you, homemade cleanse treatments etc. You don't want to put entries about boxing, Nascar, hunting, tools, candles, etc. keep the entries to the theme. Now you can have one or two links to affiliate products or back to your website but don't put too many in as it will look like spam to search engines.
Tips for a good blog
Keep the theme on your Niche (specific subject), people will come because of your theme to get free information which is what the internet was intended for.
Don't Spam by doing keyword cramming. Make sure your entries can be read easily and not every other word is a keyword. See design SEO.
Make each post interesting, I'm not a big fan of spinning articles just to have blog post. Spinning is re-writing the same articles content to be worded different but saying the same thing. Can you imagine going to a blog site and seeing 50 post on the topic you like and after reading the first 4 you realize they are all saying the same thing. Example: Article 1 - Elvis sings like the King he is. Article 2 Spun - The King Elvis sings like he's the King. Article 3 Spun - Everyone calls Elvis the King because he sings great. This will soon become boring. Spinning has to be done right to be effective.
Make the content FREE and VERY informative. Be sure to include some How To's.
Big Post are better with lots of information, people who stumble across your blog will see so much content they will come back again and again, bookmark it and also send a link to a friend who may benefit from the content.
Always add a photo to your post, this is eye-catching.
Actual interviews are great either the transcript or a video would be even better.
Here are some great tricks to get traffic to your blog
Post entries in your blog using low competition but high volume keywords, search engines love it.
Send Out Press Releases, there are may FREE press release websites out there search for using a search engine.
Join a Google group on a topic in the same niche as your website, these are free but can generate lots of spam so use the ones that have a moderator.
Post informative videos on YouTube about you business and topics that can help people.
Continually look for one way links but try to make sure they are from sites with a higher page rank.
Post an informative comment on a blog
of the same Niche (same theme) as you. Follow these steps for finding blog in your niche.
Here's an easy way to get links from blog comments. Just type the
following search query into Google:
wordpress comments "your keywords"
Where you replace "your keywords" with the specific keywords your
are targeting with your website.
When you search like that you will find wordpress blogs related to
your niche where you can post relevant comments and include a link back
to your site.
Make sure to use different variations of your keywords when you
link back!
